The Lady with the Lamp visited Year 2 on Monday to light up our day! Florence Nightingale came to visit and tell us about her life. Miss Nightingale regaled us with tales of her life and endeavours. She told us about how she transformed hospitals and changed the face of nursing forever but most importantly of all, she taught us that standing up for what you believe in is a brave and important action to take.

Year 2 then became nurses and soldiers and they took great pleasure in re-enacting scenes of the bandaging and cleaning that Florence and her group of brave nurses had to perform on some of the wounded soldiers they attended.
We are looking forward to learning even more about Florence Nightingale and the important role she played in history.
