The rainforest came to Cotteridge Primary School in January when Amazonian expert and wildlife aficionado ‘Dave’ visited Year 4. Dave has travelled the world and has visited the rainforest over 50 times! He arrived at Cotteridge ready to share his experiences with the children and he came equipped with a number of craft, art and exploration based activities, that were perfect for the children to explore the true nature of the rainforest in depth!
Dave brought along a wide range of exotic and exciting artefacts, materials and of course… animals!

Some of the children even tried speaking to the snakes!

Dave demonstrated the Amazonian blowpipe used for hunting.

Children created jewellery from beads. A popular pass time in the Amazon.

The scorpion certainly had a sting in the tail!

The insect sketches can be seen on display in the year 4 corridor!

Fun with decorative masks!

Trying out the decorative dress accessories worn by the tribes of the rainforest.

Then it was time to say goodbye to all of visitors!
Year 4 enjoyed the day immensely and we look forward to further exploring the depths and mysteries the rainforest has in store for us!
