School Uniform Options

Grey / black skirt (knee length, allowing room for movement) inappropriately short skirts are not acceptable and parents/carers will be contacted.

Grey pinafore dress

Grey / black trousers

Grey / black trouser shorts

Red jumper or cardigan (Logo optional)

Red / White polo shirt (Logo optional)

White dress shirt

Black polishable shoes, which are low heeled and well secured with Velcro, buckles or laces (NOT boots/trainers or trainer style shoes)

Grey, white or black socks or tights.

Red summer dresses in warm weather

 PE/Games Kit

Plain white t-shirt

Black / blue shorts

A pair of pumps or trainers

In cold weather tracksuit bottoms (any dark colour) plus school jumper or cardigan.

Lost Property

Please ensure that all school uniform is named – with 430 children in school, all wearing similar clothing, it is very difficult to match children to un-named clothing.

Named property is returned to children.

Un-named items are kept for two months, after which the items are disposed of.

Second Hand Uniform

Our PTA keep a stock of second hand uniform and run regular second‑hand uniform sales. If you require second hand uniform between sales please contact the school office. 

Branded vs Non-Branded Items

In line with the Department for Education’s Cost of School Uniform guidance, Cotteridge Primary School keeps branded items to a minimum.

Branded items (optional):

  • Red jumper or cardigan with logo
  • Red/white polo shirt with logo

Non‑branded items (widely available):

  • Grey/black trousers, skirts, pinafores, or shorts
  • White dress shirts
  • Red summer dresses
  • Black polishable school shoes (no boots or trainers)
  • Black/grey/white socks or tights

Parents may buy uniform from any retailer.
