ADMISSIONS

‘Cotteridge Primary School follows Birmingham Education’s Policy for admissions.’

Nursery

Cotteridge Primary School can admit places on a full-time basis into the Nursery class each year.  Places are offered to children who have reached their 3rd birthday by the 31st August prior to September admission using the agreed criteria for all Birmingham Nurseries. For full details on places in our Nursery please contact the school office on 0121 464 2865.

Reception Class

Places are offered for Reception class by the Local Authority. Children in Birmingham can start school (Reception) in the September after their 4th birthday. Parents can apply for a place in the autumn of the year before their child turns four-years-old.

Open Days at our school are arranged each November to enable prospective Reception children and their parents to visit the school.

In-Year School Admissions

If you are applying for a place in any year group other than Reception (or Reception as part of the in-year admissions process), you will need to contact the school directly. Please ask to speak to Mrs Burnett who deals with admissions.

You can get an in-year transfer form by clicking here to complete. Once this is completed and returned along with proof of date of birth and proof of address, we will be able to advise you whether we can offer you a place or whether your child will need to go on a waiting list until a space becomes available.

Waiting Lists

Positions on waiting lists are not fixed. They are subject to change. This means that a child’s waiting list position during the year could go up or down. Any applicants will be added to our school’s list in accordance with the order of priority for offering places. Waiting lists will be maintained until the end of each academic year.
