As an entry to point to our new topic – Ancient Greece and Democracy – year 5 spent an afternoon at Cotteridge Park participating in our own version of the Greek Olympics! The children were split into seven teams to represent some of the different Ancient Greek states before competing in events such as javelin, discus, shotput and even ‘marathon!’

Unlike the Ancient Greeks who only crowned the winners and forgot about the losers, we celebrated everyone’s success with Knossos coming in first place, followed by Magara then Athens.
