Cotteridge School Mission Statement
To be a vibrant and inspirational centre of Educational Excellence, where minds are opened and all learners aspire to fulfil their dreams
Simply put, we strive to give our pupils a world class education. This is summarised in our vision:
Achieving Excellence Inspiring Dreams
Our ethos is one of care, support and respect. We build this ethos around a curriculum which challenges and stretches children whilst still understanding their individual needs. The students of today must demonstrate not just academic success but also that they can develop projects over a period of time, that they can work alone and in groups, that they can adapt to new ideas, use modern technology, solve problems, and above all that they are committed to a life of continued learning.
The way in which we endeavour to teach these skills and attitudes is through the highly acclaimed ‘Philosophy for Children’ Programme.
Four ways of thinking underpin all of the good learning in our school. These are:
- Caring Thinking
- Critical Thinking
- Collaborative Thinking
- Creative Thinking
Our ethos is reflected in our partnership with UNICEF and the Rights Respecting School Award.
